Full-Time | Short-Term Assignment (Approx. 2 Months)

About the Role:

Reporting to the Outreach Cohort Supervisor, the Community Health Worker will play a key role in promoting Lead Poisoning Prevention and Environmental Public Health programs. This position blends active community engagement with in-office coordination to support overall outreach objectives.

You will serve as a trusted liaison between the organization and the community—educating residents, connecting individuals to services, and building lasting partnerships.

What You’ll Do:

• Conduct community outreach through canvassing, local business engagement, and event participation.
• Provide education and program information through phone outreach and in-person engagement.
• Create and deliver presentations and workshops on public health topics.
• Initiate referrals while ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.
• Track, collect, and submit outreach data accurately and consistently.
• Recommend improvements to outreach strategies and assist with training updates.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
• Support emergency response initiatives and additional outreach efforts as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Confidence presenting to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable with data tracking and reporting.
• A genuine passion for community engagement and public health.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
• Some evenings required.
• Community events every other weekend required.
