**Position: Registered Nurse
- Emergency Department**
**Role Overview:** As a Registered Nurse within the Emergency Department, the nurse applies the nursing process in alignment with the Oregon State Board of Nursing guidelines to deliver patient-centered care.
Key responsibilities include the education of patients and their families, meticulous documentation of patient interactions in the medical record, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care integration.
**Core Competencies:**
- Proficient in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English.
- Demonstrates critical thinking and advanced problem-solving capabilities.
- Adapts to dynamic patient and unit demands with flexibility and prioritization skills.
- Exhibits strong teaching abilities with a focus on patient education.
- Effectively manages patient crises and emergency situations.
- Competent in electronic health record (EHR) systems, including word processing and internet navigation.
- Maintains consistent and punctual attendance at the designated job location.
**Educational Requirements & Certifications:**
- Completion of a SAFE class or an organization-approved workplace violence training within 6 months of employment; certification required by the end of the subsequent month following the 6-month grace period.
- Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or the ability to obtain it within 6 months of hire.
- American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurses’ Association Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification required within 1 year of employment.
- Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) certification for initial qualification to be obtained within 1 year of hire.
- National certification in emergency nursing (CEN or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Active Oregon RN license required. - American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
**Experience Necessary:** - Recent experience in emergency nursing.
- Recent acute care hospital experience within the past 5 years.
