Job Description

Symmetrio is recruiting a SolidWorks Drafter for our customer, a global company in the medical device space. This is a one year contract opportunity supporting the Mechanical Engineering team with CAD drafting and documentation efforts tied to ongoing product development work.

This role is focused on executing day to day CAD tasks, updating drawings, and supporting engineers by translating existing designs and markups into accurate SolidWorks models and documentation. The position is well suited for someone with a solid foundation in SolidWorks who is looking to contribute in a structured engineering environment.

This is an onsite position based in Melbourne, FL, with a salary range of $55-60k.

Responsibilities

• Create and update 3D CAD models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks based on existing designs and engineering input
• Convert legacy drawings and PDFs into SolidWorks parts, assemblies, and drawings
• Apply basic GD&T principles to support manufacturable designs
• Work with engineers to incorporate markups and redlines into updated drawing packages
• Assist with Bills of Materials and basic assembly documentation
• Generate standard manufacturing files such as PDFs, DXF, and STEP
• Support prototype builds and general documentation needs
• Make drawing updates based on engineering change requests
• Communicate with internal team members to clarify drawing details as needed

Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of experience using SolidWorks in a drafting or design support role
• Basic understanding of GD&T and mechanical drawings
• Ability to follow direction and translate engineering input into accurate CAD documentation
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret engineering intent from incomplete inputs
