What We’re Looking For:- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2 years of experience painting transportation equipment, engines, automobiles, trucks, trains, boats, or aircraft preferred
- Candidates with a strong desire to learn a skilled trade and demonstrate mechanical aptitude will be considered
- Strong knowledge of industrial painting methods, paint mixing, and application techniques
- Experience operating, cleaning, maintaining, and performing basic repairs on painting equipment
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and safe work practices
- Ability to identify color variations, shades, and brightness differences
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Ability to wear a respirator and work with paints, solvents, and cleaning chemicals
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to operate hoists and obtain powered industrial vehicle certifications when required
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
What You’ll Do as an Industrial Painter:- Select paints according to engine build specifications
- Mix water-based paints and coatings to required viscosity standards
- Prepare polyurethane paint mixtures, including hardeners and thinners
- Operate manual and powered paint-mixing equipment
- Adjust spray equipment settings to achieve proper paint flow and coating thickness
- Monitor paint applications and identify defects such as orange peel, dry spray, and runs
- Troubleshoot paint quality issues and ensure color accuracy
- Disassemble, clean, maintain, and reassemble paint sprayers and paint pots
- Apply primers and topcoat finishes to engine components and assemblies
- Properly dispose of hazardous paint-related materials according to company standards
- Install engine accessories according to build specifications
- Use electronic torque wrenches to install and secure components
- Mask surfaces using tape, foil, bags, and specialty materials to protect areas from paint
- Position and align components using hoists and material-handling equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Train team members as assigned through departmental training programs
- Support assembly operations and special projects as needed
- Promote and uphold the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct and compliance standards
Preferred Qualifications:- Two years of mechanical, automotive, or industrial painting experience
- Knowledge of Rolls-Royce products, policies, and procedures
- Ability to work overtime and additional shifts as needed
